Here at OnRamp, we’re passionate about the community. There is no greater cause than helping the future of our country by helping its people. We’re convinced skills development and a solid foundation will go a long way to giving people the tools they need to be successful. A South Africa charity organisation, LIV Village, has inspired us to get involved and do our part for the community.
KwaZulu Natal couple, Tich and Joan Smith founded LIV Village in 2001. They had the vision to create a supportive community for orphaned children in South Africa. The LIV Village is a model centred on providing a nurturing environment for vulnerable children to grow, giving them the foundation to thrive. They believe in a self-sustainable approach. The village provides a family environment, education, holistic health care, and a true sense of community. Not only is the LIV model aimed at being ECO-friendly, but it gives support to the surrounding communities as well in the form of skills development and job creation.
Our LIV Campaign saw the beginning of our involvement with this inspirational organisation. The campaign is aiming to raise a sizeable donation for LIV Village. We’re donating R1 for every ‘like’ our Facebook Page receives. We’ve set a target and with every ‘like’ we get one step closer to the goal of our campaign. We’re appealing to everyone to open up their Facebook app and turn OnRamp’s thumbs up blue. Supporting a great cause has never been easier. LIV Village is a motivating force for our nation and we want to help them grow countrywide.
We aren’t stopping with our campaign. We’re taking every opportunity to get involved with helping LIV Village. We recently participated in their first golf day. Held on the 9th of February this year, the day was a roaring success. We sponsored a hole on the course and the team had a blast out in the sunshine. At our hole, we provided mini Bheki’s burgers, chips, and shooter-shakes (strawberry and chocolate milkshakes in shooter glasses).
We’re excited about the prospect of growing our relationship with such an awe-inspiring initiative. The LIV Village is truly inspiring and we look forward to the next opportunity to get involved.
